A belt press
for washing and maximum dewatering of coconut pith
This washer-squeezer belt press is
designed to remove absorbed water from coir pith, a natural, bio-degradable soil
conditioner. From a saturated state of 90% moisture (9 kg of water with 1
kg of solids) this machine mechanically reduces it to 50% moisture (1 kg of
water with 1 kg of solids), thus resulting in huge energy savings in subsequent
thermal drying.
Key design features
- Three washes of chemical, recycled water and
fresh water are provided, with a heavy squeeze after each wash
- Very small energy consumption of less than
7KWH for dewatering of 10 cubic meters of material per hour
- No rolling or crushing the material, so no
degradation or breaking of cells
- Squeeze can be easily adjusted by adjusting
the air pressure in the belt tensioning cylinders
- No continuous air consumption
